Swirl drywall textures have been around for decades. This texture is typically used on just ceilings but occasionally seen on walls. The texture leaves a swirl pattern of half circles intricately laying on top of one another, Very similar to the "Sand Swirl". Using a mud compound, its method of application is usually rolling the mud evenly then using a special brush for the swirl design.
